Alex couldn't be happier. He had just met the most awesomest amiibo in the world. One in a million. The cutest - the bestest - The Yarn Yoshi. Alex had heard about the Yarn Yoshi amiibo months ago, and liked it from the start. The more he learned about it, the more he liked. Really liked. The day finally came when he caved and just had to go get it!
Yarn Yoshi smiled back as Alex pulled it out from the box.
"I'm so glad we're together" Yarn Yoshi seemed to say.
Alex really liked its smile. It was so cute and made him feel warm inside.
"You're special, Yarn Yoshi."
Many pats were had. Alex simply could not get enough of his special Yarn Yoshi and all its nice features. But there was only one thing they hadn't done yet together: Yarn Yoshi needed to be tapped and used in a game.
"Please play a game with me," it seemed to say.
"Not now," Alex replied. "I'm just not ready for that yet. Maybe someday. But we definitely will."
"Okay
"
Time passed and still no game. The Yarn Yoshi sat and smiled regardless, even though it felt awful inside.
---
One day there was a knock on the door and Alex answered. He didn't know it then, but it was all over.
"I'm here to take Yarn Yoshi," a stranger said.
"But it's mine..." Alex turned to the Yarn Yoshi. "and how do you know about it anyway?"
It was then that Yarn Yoshi spilled the beans.
"I contacted him through Miiverse," it seemed to say.
"Miiverse? But that means-"
"I tapped in. Yes, and it was amazing. I met this awesome guy and he actually does things with me. I would like to leave with him now."
Alex was devastated. The cutest thing he knew had slipped through his fingers.
But he had to be strong.
"I understand, Yarn Yoshi. I can't expect you to put your life on hold for me," he said, holding back tears.
"Goodbye! Spread your wings...SPREAD THEM AND FLY LIKE THE ANGEL YOU ARE!"
Alex felt terrible but he knew he had done the right thing.
---
A rather short time later, Alex got another knock on the door - this time it was Yarn Yoshi.
"Oh?" Alex leaned over for a closer look.
Yarn Yoshi's bottom patch had been completely torn off and its body filled with a rather nasty amount of a certain liquid we won't mention by name, extending up through the inside of the amiibo's face as it slowly leaked out of eyes that had clearly seen some shit. Yarn Yoshi said nothing, traumatized by what had been done to it. The only sound came from a nearby revving engine, as a voice shouted that he'd been here and Alex was a loser, before speeding off into the darkness.
Epilogue
Alex noticed a harpoon stuck in Yarn Yoshi's back and gave the rope a tug. He was instantly pulled out to sea by a whale and everyone drowned.
Screw Flanders.
