-Chapter 103-
Wave looked up as he heard the door down the hall open. The red-headed man must be coming back for that signature again. Sure enough, it was the first thing on his mind.
"Ready to sign yet?"
Wave pushed the papers away. "I told you I don't know yet. I might have a soul or might not. Dunno. Either way I wouldn't sign it over to you."
"But I want souls! You'd dare oppose me, the most powerful overlord this side of the Tennessee border?"
"I hope you know I have friends" (really? huh) "and they'll come find me."
"You mean this one?" The red-headed man snapped his fingers and two minions appeared, carrying Espeon. They quickly dumped her limp body in the cell by Wave.
Redhead sighed. "This one was easy to overpower. Perhaps she will be more cooperative than you. Or perhaps we can have some fun with her until you sign. But if that's the best your friends can fight, the others sure are in trouble."
"You monster!"
Redhead scoffed. "I'll be back later, to see if you've changed your mind."

"Hello?"
Tails wondered where everyone else went. Ally wasn't there, neither was Renegade. He wanted to move on. He needed to. Perhaps it was for the best he did this alone-
*oof*
Ally pushed herself at Tails in a surprise hug.
"Heya cutie ^_^"
"...hi." Well, at least he knew where she was now. She was kindof cute...
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah, just when I finish getting my stuff."
"You mean this?" Ally took out a devolution spray. "Did you steal this from Brandon? That wasn't nice of you."
"I didn't steal it >_>" Tails sighed. "Well, maybe Ninetails did."
"Same difference. Brandon wants to be a Vaporeon, you know. Why don't you want him to be who he really is?"
"What he really is, is an Umbreon. He can always learn to accept that." Tails looked down at the devolution spray. "And I can accept things too." Tails looked at Ally hesitantly.
"Oh?"
"Nothing."
"No, tell me."
"...Would you like to come with me? We can do this together."
"All right
I was bored anyway."
This time Tails gave Ally the surprise hug.

"Hello there
" [color=Caught you sleeping, I see.
"Gah!" GM shot up from his desk. "What are you doing back here?"
"Come now. I wouldn't just leave my favorite game master's side for too long, would I?"
"It would be nice..."
Renegade smiled. "Do I annoy you? And here I was nice for once. I brought you food!" He quickly withdrew a drink and burrito and tossed it to GM.
"Careful! I just fixed the portal maker! I don't need anything-"
There was a crash as the goods collided with some fancy-looking electrical equipment.
"...spilled on it."
"Oops. Is it supposed to spark like that?"
"Run!" GM jumped out the window to avoid being hit by a multicolored explosion.

"How do we get out of here?"
"Dunno."
Espeon had recovered, and the two pondered their options. It seemed hopeless. There was so much security around this place, and no one else knew where they were. They had no idea how long they would be here, or what was going to happen to them.
"At least we're together again."
Espeon began to tear up. "Oh Wave...what will we do? Why does that man want our souls? And why is he so angry? I can feel it in his mind...it doesn't stop..."
Wave held Espeon close as he looked out his window and into the night sky. For some reason, perhaps because he could do nothing else, he turned his head high and spoke to the stars.
"If you're up there, and that's a big if, help us. Or not. Dunno."
Wave's plea was interrupted by a bright flash, followed by a massive explosion. Colors filled the night sky. Wave couldn't believe what he saw.
"Get away from the window!" Espeon shouted as she backed over to the other side of the cell. "I sense danger!"
Wave listened and quickly followed her. A few seconds later the outer wall to the cell tumbled down violently, scattering debris everywhere.
"It must've been from that explosion!" Whatever that was, it came at the right time. Now they had a chance to escape.
Espeon eyed a pile of rubble apprehensively. "Wave...something's moving..."
"Oh?" Wave approached the pile and started removing rocks.
"Oh my God..."

Nitro regretfully looked around and sighed.
"I can't believe it. I'm actually tired of furries!" he shouted, quickly adding "for the next few minutes." Nitro realized his chances of inclusion in the story decreased if he stayed too long out of town. He needed to get back so he could be noticed.
But he could hardly take a step, or see where he was going. There were so many furpiles blocking his path, his view...in all the confusion, he had no idea how to get back to town. Was he doomed to an eternity of mass furry funstuff?
"It's not the worst thing that could happen to a person." Still, Nitro wanted to get back to town. He wanted to do something, to be noticed. But as long as he was stuck among these indistinguishable anthro masses, that wasn't going to happen.
Nitro felt the ground beneath his feet shake as white flashed before his eyes. Whoa. Either someone just had a very happy ending, or something else was going on.
Nitro saw an explosion off in the distance. Hmm...might as well see what it is. Better than having nothing to go on.

Ally watched as an Eevee rolled down the side of a rock.
"Aw, he's cute!"
"Well, he might look it now. But up until recently he was a savage beast."
"This little thing? I wanna keep it as a pet!"
"What's the point of pets? Aminals are silly."
"no u. They can be fun!"
"I don't think so."
"Don't you like any animals?"
Tails looked off into the distance.
"...No."
"You're lying."
"I'm moving on."
