How do I switch the fn function so f1-12 are on by default? Why does my window not stay snapped to a corner on startup and leaves a block of space instead? Shrink in the wash? I would like the top of the inactive windows to be a paler shade, not totally white and garish. I would also like the scrollbar on the right to be easier to see than slightly darker grey on light grey. I don't need to see a green underline or green loader thing on the bottom bar. I just need the text for what window is what. Why do we have an extra click on the lock screen? I'm not swiping it like a phone. Why does the screen go black almost instantly on lock, despite my clear time settings? Why does the start menu stay popped up over there after I log back in? Can I get a lock or shut down button right on the menu itself, without extra clicks under settings and power? This actually didn't solve it and my mouse continued to lag after keyboard use. This is because in addition to turning this off, you have to double click advanced settings within the touchpad settings itself, which gets rid of the delay but still doesn't let you use the touch and keys simultaneously. h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-to-ENABLE-touchpad-while-typing/td-p/895979/page/3I could spend more time going through the registry but I can live with this. Although it's utterly, utterly silly to see when I use the touch and then hit up or down arrow on the keyboard, touch will turn off for the fraction of a second during one scroll, turn on again in the fraction of a second the scroll pauses and I'm still holding the key, then turn off again for the rest of the scrolling. I'm also still getting left clicks instead of right clicks because they don't split the primary button halfway through the pad, no, left click goes more like 3/4ths of the way across so whenever I right click I'm still cautious. Another recurring issue from the old days is that after whatever background condition starts up, I'll get hangups and/or brief "not responding" in this window whenever I use the shift key while typing. Then it will either decide to catch up, or not add anything I typed after the shift key. Closing the browser down usually fixes it.

lolnope
So this time instead of just disabling the 'return to defaults' value in the registry, which didn't work, I changed 24 different values in the defaults folder itself to zero. This finally did it and I can move my pointer while a key is pressed down. Oh but in the menu itself the computer still thinks the delay is still turned on when it isn't.
I put the F1-12 keys to how they should be by changing action keys settings in the Bios...which in the old one I could just get to by pressing F10 at startup but I don't have that countdown on this one, so I got into it by holding shift on restart and then going through the options until I found Bios within UEFI.
My old webcam doesn't work on this (aside from the computer knowing it's a webcam and it's not working) and when I look for the company's specified driver it installed something unrelated. Also, my camera's missing from where I thought it was.
Still looking for ways to change the scrollbar so it's more visible. And why windows really hate going right to the border of the screen by default even though I want them to.

So now the VHS player has been giving me trouble when it hasn't before. At power on it tried to eject something when nothing was in it, and nothing was moving. It ejected a tape after I put it in and then wouldn't pull tapes in. I put it in the slot as far as I could while still being able to pull the tape out, then something inside starts moving again and I think it was trying to eject again while the tape was on top of the tray, so I had to cut the power so it didn't crush. Then I tried some menu settings (done by using the play/fast forward buttons without a remote) I turned off auto-replay and a couple other vague terms that do stuff but I dunno what. But I turned all of them off and then it started playing again. It ejected when I turned the TV off. I'd rather it excessively eject, though, than get the tape stuck inside.

Can't you buy another one for 50 cents somewhere?
Remember all the jokes after watching something of "now I have to rewind the movie lololol" when DVD players came out

ATTN:
I am not going to apologize for wanting to keep two to three cars lengths between me and the person in front of me if we're going 30-35 miles an hour. Similarly, I refuse to apologize for speeding up a little bit if you attempt to pass me using a right-turn-only lane, which is just flat out rude. So put your finger down, pull your hand back into your car, and quit tailgating me.
And if you're turning left at a four-way stop intersection, either start turning immediately, or use your turn signal.

"A lot people are having trouble finding a new home, especially graduates. So we've decided to help those people... By providing compensation when they've moved into a new home."
GREAT but that means I still have to find one, which is the main issue in the first place. Unless you're going to give me compensation for living in someone's basement.

Sometimes people make lifestyle changes and they're free to do that
Sometimes these people are my friends, and I support them
But sometimes they're too drastic and it becomes a central character trait and it gets in the way of why I'm friends with them. I'll seem like an asshole but screw it man. I'm not the one pushing me away here.
If it gets too much, then I'm out. Simple as that.

Mom made chili for dinner tonight. Very good stuff, I love it!
Dad decided to ruin it by dropping some Milky Ways candies in it without telling anyone. When pressed, he said, "I just wanted to see how it turned out."
Dammit, Dad, could you not put some in your own bowl?

To be fair, adding a little cocoa to chilli is a normal thing. The important parts being "a little" and "cocoa", not several processed choco-sugar sticks.
