Been noticing a rash of suspensions - somebody even got suspended while I was writing a PM to them.

The best answer to this is that the usual mods went out for July 4th and we're left with a constantly-triggered, incompetent back-bencher who usually has no business modding stuff on the board(s) he just picked up.

10 days later I got my reply within 24 hours. Here's what'll earn you a suspension:

Message 1:

Do LGBT groups endorse candidates? "Second-class citizens" should have the same rights. This is a free speech issue.

Trolling because I said LGBT groups and church groups should have equal free speech rights when it comes to endorsing candidates. The topic was about ending the Johnson amendment, because right now the church groups do not (even though it's never enforced, would be unconstitutional). I put "second-class citizens" in quotes for a reason, wasn't calling anyone that myself. Reading comprehension, mods. Learn it sometime.

Message 2:

We all know why they're there. It's not talent. Europe is in decline.

Offensive (identity politics - the eternal shield you must never question) - but I have a dream that one day people will be judged based on the content of their character.

In the meantime I decided to hit up Error with a twitter message asking why so many people were getting suspended, and whoever did the holiday weekend cover was doing a bad job. This prompted a search through my message history for additional moderations.

Message 3:

Charter schools are better with turnover and constant reform, constant improvement and innovation, much like democracy. Meanwhile the public schools get more money and stagnate, because corrupt unions retain corrupt workers and make them unfireable. The 19th century top-down public union model has failed.

Trolling. We are to believe that these are messages the userbase marks, and not mods combing through my history for violations. But either way, honestly I don't know which way is sadder.

Sandra Bland would still be around today if she valued her own life. Everybody here did.

Trolling. This was probably the nicest way to put it. Look up the definition for suicide sometime - surprisingly, it isn't "the rest of society (which is totally to blame) possesses you via microaggressions to murder you with your own hands."

Message 5:

Give the left some credit this time, they at least made some effort instead of the usual "lol Breitbart" without any reasons.

This is a step up from last year when liberals insisted that these zones didn't even exist at all. You'll catch up to the rest of us eventually.

We're now at an argument over semantics. Whatever euphemism you want to call it, these areas are not the best and the brightest. They are not the Great and Glorious Future of Europe. They're a drain on society, if anything. Sexual harassment, rape and violence are taking place left and right. Grenades lying around in parks. This is what happens when a pro-diversity, anti-cop society gets its wish. And this is just the stuff we know about, what the politicians own up to. Behind the scenes they're covering up worse. I think it's more than fair to call them no-go zones.

I bring it up all the time. This kind of violence happens all the time across the Middle East, and now it's happening in Europe. I coined the phrase, "you can take the jihadist out of the desert, but you can't take the desert out of the jihadist." Civilians rape each other in Tahrir Square and the guys in charge gas their own people. The only exception in the entire region is Israel which is a democracy and comes from an entirely different tradition, so it's attacked mercilessly by practically everyone around it. We are dealing with an inherently evil, pro-terrorist ideology. Why did anyone think they would respect the west when they constantly attack, and don't even respect each other?

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that when millions come over from violent areas, when ISIS itself said that it will exploit the open borders and sneak in to commit atrocities, that the violence over there will continue over here. I was all for taking in refugees, the people who were facing religious persecution and had to flee to avoid beheadings. I am NOT for a wide-open border so that the attackers can chase the refugees down and continue their violence over here.

It is my policies that would prevent the attacks you raised. Your policies certainly haven't. The attacks have gone on while you guys cover them up and make a million excuses.

Offensive. So today's lesson is to never say or suggest that Europe is in decline.

Well, it doesn't help that the moderation staff has become completed jaded and silly (nice term). The way they egg on arguments, create them, and subtly troll users creates a bad role model for newer modes - especially Error and Raptor.

I said at the time of the election: what we know about Obama is just the tip of the iceberg, and more is going to come out in the following years. Think about all the scandals we lived through so far - the guy governed by scandal. There's way more that he was hiding from us, and that's why he needed Hillary to win - to keep the Dems around so they could cover it up longer. Nothing would surprise me. Obama has already sunk lower than my lowest expectations of him, back when I thought he couldn't possibly have done Fast and Furious. He did, and it only got worse from there. Nothing that comes out will surprise me. It's just a given that his administration was corrupt from top to bottom.

A more accurate title would be "I'm going to hate Trump no matter what he does" because prior to the election, everyone was in a panic that President Trump would be a narcissist and go it alone, start WWIII, etc. "He would be the imperial president and we can't have that!! So you went down the list of all the things that President Trump has sent back to Congress for guidance, which is what a responsible leader does in our constitutional system. Wouldn't you think Fuhrer-haters would be fans of this?

Beefdip, I'm curious. Are we allowed to support the candidates of mainstream political parties?

I ask because a lot of uncertainty and shady application of the terms has taken place on this site. You may have seen this (at the very least) when you recently singled out my comments in another topic as well, which I am currently disputing - and it probably will be that way for several more days, as mods drag their feet to catch up with the backlog but seem to have plenty of time to smear the character of board users in political arguments.

It just seems really weird that you decided to single out my opinion, which was actually against current enforcement of a policy deemed "offensive," because unless you're following my account around, you had to have read all the other comments in favor of that offensive policy and more. My message was the only one of about 60 taken down, until I pointed out biased enforcement and your message, then the entire topic was shortly taken down. I see that the TC wasn't set to warned status, despite supporting current enforcement of the offensive policy that I opposed.

So you can see why I'm not impressed with the current inconsistent enforcement of the terms, or the chilling effect game that has been played on me plenty of times by mods who I have outlasted. Thank you for your opinions though. I will be reconsidering my worldview any day now.

Quarantine would make sense decades ago, back when the disease was confined to a few people entering this country, who we would've had a right to block under border laws just like when it comes to handling Ebola or other diseases. It is not realistic to quarantine thousands of citizens now, and makes no sense to punish kids born with the disease, but these are both proposals pushed by other people there - my response is to say those ideas are not realistic, and yet my comment is singled out? I fail to see how it's offensive.

Those may very well be your opinions, and you're free to debate them like everyone else but not moderate someone over it. Somehow my opposition to those other messages gets my character attacked and quoted as some human rights violator. After actually opposing those very things.

Well, now you know how absurd that response of yours sounds to me.
