I'm the go-to guy for jobs. They seriously wait for me to get home I swear. When it comes to work, my sister's obviously out. How it usually happens is parents ask brothers first, they say no a few times, they move on and come to me because they know I'll do it. Earlier this week I already was driving people around because of the arguments my sister gets into has the arrangements all messed up, and then other things. My brother was doing it but since I'm home it's time for him to sleep today. I said mark my words, I guarantee as soon as this semester's over I'll be doing all the driving because he'll just pretend to sleep and then come down once we're gone.

damn, conservative parenting. I never get asked to do anything when I'm at home, cept walk the dog and occasionally pick the kids up from school (both of which are more stimulating than outright housework). Mum sometimes gets annoyed like 'i dont ask you to do much do i' and i'm like yeah sure but how am i supposed to help if you dont tell me you want me to, and most of the time when i do chores (ie cooking) im so bad at them that you have to fix what ive tried to do anyway yourself, also i keep saying that i want to redecorate the hallway cuz the wallpaper is half scraped off and there's holes in the plaster and etc (plaster only lasts for a few decades before it stops holding together apparently) but she keeps putting it off and making excuses, I don't think she likes hard work (or perhaps a better way to put it is a break in routine) any more than i do
Kinda wish she had made me do a little more housework especially cooking cuz it would be nice to actually know how to do it. But then you guyzes parents seem to go to the other extreme.

What bugs me most is having to clean shit I didn't get dirty in the first place.
Like, if they wanted me to vacuum, sure, whatever, I walk on the carpet too. Your fucking pile of dirty dishes that could have just as easily already been cleaned if you'd give them a quick rinse and toss them in the dishwasher? Fuck that.

It is sometimes annoying being responsible for a dog that I had no choice about getting in the first place. But he's such a cuteums so mujujujujujuj (this my dog rubbing sound), i don't really mind that much

It isn't "conservative parenting" as much as it is "one guy does most of the work because it's easier," easier to stick on me because I'm the oldest or whatever and will actually do things, unlike other people who you have to drag out and constantly pressure to do something. The biggest problem imo is they're cutting people more slack as they age.

So then... refuse to do more than your fair share? You must down tools and show them the true power of labour

A lot of it is my sister. I would rather she leave.

And I'd rather the UN just come to my door and present me with my certification as head of the new one world government. But that's not the world we live in so if you don't like something you might as well 'try' to do something about it.

I could spend all day cleaning rooms and she can spend ten minutes making a mess. So what's the point?

Complaining to us isn't going to change anything though is it, it would be better to direct those concerns to your presumably autocratic parents >_>

Whenever the subject comes up I make it known. It's not like this is an impossible thing, she went off at one point and things were better.

So then just refuse to clean up then, something tells me your family isn't the sharing caring type that talks out their feelings, you'll just have to make them see
