Where bills passed by democratically-elected officials can be blocked by a single activist judge.

Obama will not be attending the boy scout's national jamboree. Rather than pay a visit to the scouts on their hundredth year, he's doing more important things like going on The View and attending another fundraising dinner.

www.nytimes.com/2010/07/30/opinion/30fri1.html?_r=2Earlier this year, the administration successfully pushed for crucial provisions of the Patriot Act to be renewed for another year without changing a word. Voters had every right to expect the president would roll back authority that had been clearly abused, like national security letters. But instead of implementing reasonable civil liberties protections, like taking requests for e-mail surveillance before a judge, the administration is proposing changes to the law that would allow huge numbers of new electronic communications to be examined with no judicial oversight.Hypocrisy detected.

Where bills passed by democratically-elected officials can be blocked by a single activist judge. speaking as a non-American, the bill was stupid in the first place. it just encourages racial profiling and even though it's illegal to racial profile in the bill, how else are the officers going to tell if someone is illegal or not...

I spose if someone were pulled over they'd work down from there upon the driver's failure to show a valid license. It's not like the average cop is going to suspect every Hispanic person, there's a sizeable amount of em who are legal citizens...

but they shouldn't be pulled over in the first place, they've done nothing wrong. you shouldn't be interfered by the law unless you're breaking it...
