The real joke is how wrong you got all that. I'd offer corrections, but given the present, unreceptive audience, I think I'll hold back. Not really. The "story" you heard was that the pages were stolen by some people and when Joe Smith went to retranslate the plates the words were different because God or whoever said that the different translation means if the stolen version popped up and could have been changed by the theives then you know it's not the real translation anymore. Or something similar right Ferret? It's a pretty crappy excuse tbh. But then the actual truth that Ferret thinks is wrong because why would his church tell him the biggest flaw in the creation of his religion, is that his wife thought Joe Smith was full of shit. She had the idea that if she stole the transcription it should be easy to just retranslate the plates word for word. After all if you're just reading plates and translating them not pulling words out your ass. But he was unable to do it. Of course when it comes to religion what actually happened and what the church bosses tell their people are always two different things.

Yeah, I figured as much. Just saying stupid shit. Being gay, however, is understandably a much touchier and controversial subject. For the record, though, we have a very open lesbian who's been coming to our meetings every Sunday. Make of that what you will. Yeah, I wasn't accusing you of anything on that subject, just bringing something out in the open. Given that your scoutmaster guy was smoking, I'm inclined to say that your troop wasn't hosted by an LDS congregation. Not sure if that matters to you, though. Our troop was, but his wasn't, as far as I know. We had two troops sharing halves of the same camp site.

actually that's a mean thing to say, I should really work out my problems with transgenderism, not like there's anything inherently fetishistic about it, I just dunno if I feel okay with it sexually personally (which is odd because I'm basically attracted to androgyny anyway)

I like how just went "Ok" when (s)he told him about the operation. Well, just about anyone would but we don't read comics about just anyone.

I like how just went "Ok" when (s)he told him about the operation. Well, just about anyone would but we don't read comics about just anyone. I don't think just about anyone would, but they live in Portland or Vermont or one of those cities iirc, and they're all hipster liberal arts types so I think it's pretty much par for the course and makes sense ish (plus the relatively harmonious inclusion of a trans person is clearly social leftyfag author/audience appeal). Though as for 'comics about just about anyone' I can only paraphrase one of the guest comics that went like 'WHY DOES NOBODY EVER TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT THIS UNIVERSE HAS ULTRA-INTELLIGENT AI IN IT OR IT HAS IMPLICATIONS TO THE BACKGROUND OF THE PLOT (ie that people are still working in coffee shops and mundane work despite that robots at least as smart and capable as the average person are clearly affordable for people down to and including a shut-in 20-something WOW nerd in IT)' oops, I'm doing the overthinking thing again Didn't know you read hipster content though, cool.

Another oglaf comic: oglaf.com/survivor/1/Standard warning applies; the page I linked to is safe enough, but oooooh man is the rest of the site covered in dicks.

Slightly Damned's voter incentive for the past long while has been stupid in an entertaining way, but this week's drew a sincere chuckle out of me.

Slightly Damned's voter incentive for the past long while has been stupid in an entertaining way, but this week's drew a sincere chuckle out of me. I hate voter incentives, simply because I'm too neutral to play favorites. Then again, I'm currently only reading one comic that has voter incentives that I know of, namely Bear Nuts, but what if I started reading that thing you're reading and wanted that too? Oh, right, and I think you said not to bother reading from the complete beginning, because the quality of the comic wasn't really that great when it started.
