I don't actually use desktop icons, I mostly use a console window and type paths with a little aid from tab completion. Those icons just happen to be shat all over my desktop by installers that either don't provide an option to disable the icon, or I forgot to uncheck said option.

No, but I meant they took artistic license when they produced that desktop background, and how I guess that's sort of like how they like to take all sorts of liberties at the expense of the original content creators.
