reasons to hate GTA (all of them were silly except maybe bad lock-on but this one takes the piss)
4. GTA is misogynistic
True, it can be argued that GTA doesn’t grab you by the nuts and force you to mistreat women. It just gives you the option to. But there aren’t a whole lot of other toys in the sandbox, are there? Run them over, beat them up, shoot them, hire them for sex. A game that offers the easter eggy incentive of killing prostitutes to get your money back is clearly not concerned with anything beyond juvenile power fantasies, so gender equality is pretty much off the table. (Note: gender equality should not mean that the female characters are just as despicable and unlikeable as the male characters.)
how is that not gender equality you stupid radfem fuck? I didn't realise gender equality meant 'men are animals, of course, but women must never be negatively portrayed because that's MISOGYNY'
not to mention the only people ever to encourage you to do the prostitute murder thing were faux news and other gutter outlets, and you can also murder taxi drivers to get your money back, clearly that means the game hates immigrants

I quiet enjoy games where I play a big tuff dude and beat up defencelss women.
A favourite of main is playing Hitman Blood money. There is one level where you go into the womens showers and there are hot chicks having shower. They see you comming so the scream and cower in the corner. I could pull out my gun and shoot them in the head. But thats no fun. I like to pistol whip them a bit yeah. Maybe shoot her in the stomach and shes crawling around bleeding out. But there are more hot chicks watching this happen. So I go to the next and I put away my gun. Instead I get a hammer and smash her skull in. It makes a delicious cracking sound. Then the next chick I leave alone. She will tell the story of what happened. Then I take one of the dead naked chicks and taker her by the ankle and then drag her around the public places and everony is like wtf! and runs away and im like "oh hai dis iz ma nu gurlfrnd"
Best game ever.

When it's a case of cops v. protesters in this grand republic of ours, the cops are usually right. As in, I don't know when they've ever been wrong.
Also GTA is gross. On the issue of women, if a game was made to encourage that sort of behavior it'd be this one.

It's really hilarious how conservatives are apparently terrified of big gubmint yet they blindly show allegiance to the militarised parts of government (ie police, military) while talking down about and getting hysterical and paranoid of the totally harmless parts like teachers and nurses. Personally, I think it's because the rough tough military parts remind them of their daddies who used to beat them when they stepped out of line and must always be respected and deified.

The government exists to defend people from foreign threats and domestic criminals. If they can't do that, it defeats the whole purpose of one and they're likely to be replaced very soon. Any overreach from police powers is unnecessary.

Some commercials: the way the Today show presents itself is just precious. Like they want you to believe they're all serious. Let's review
-Matt Lauer asking a coach why he's mean for letting football player kids get concussions. This is idiot fad panic issue #1 so I'm guessing their audience goes for this. -Barack Obama, is this the closest we've been to war in your watch? I'm assuming this is over Syria. Do people forget Iraq/Afghanistan? If we're going by casualty figures, Barack is three times the "war criminal" Bush was, but Dems get a pass and also because he's black. -asking Joe Biden a question
A local news feature drew my eye though. They actually juxtaposed Cuomo with stats like the state is the property tax capital and least free state in the US. So there's still some honest reporting goin on.

www.amazon.com/Looking-Backward-2162-2012-Libertarian-Republic/dp/1468178954What would a free nation actually look like? Professor Julian West is all too aware of the problems facing the United States in 2012: poverty, endless wars and corporate corruption of democracy. He believes that government could fix these ills, if only government could do more. But following a fluke accident, West awakens after 150 years of slumber in a new nation that has largely resolved these issues – although not through the government solutions he has yearned for. Join the astonished and dubious West as he learns what caused the Decline and Fall of the former United States and how multiple new republics were formed out of the ashes of that failed state. West now inhabits the Free States of America, a nation of limited government, free markets and civil liberties, with freedom and prosperity for all who desire it. This modern retelling of Edward Bellamy's 19th-century socialist utopian novel "Looking Backward: 2000-1887" is updated for the 21st century, based on what we know now about the failure of collectivism. It is an enjoyable and easy-to-understand introduction to the ideas of libertarianism and offers a hopeful, encouraging and ultimately credible view of what a truly free nation might look like.oh lawd libertarians are bigger koolaid drinkers than any theist It's also oddly enough the second right-wing remake I've seen of a landmark Marxist classic of 100-150 years ago told in the faux retrospective style. The other was the Turner Diaries.

Looking back to Bellamy, I thought it was funny when he dedicated this analogy to how the government was needed to place a roof over the heads of people going to individual stores because nobody would figure out how to do that themselves, and the minor inconvenience of getting wet demanded state action. Then shopping malls happened.

That was a slightly out-there idea sure but once you've solved all other problems why not? I mean yeah it's infeasible for suburbia but when urban centres are tightly packed like they should be it could work great.
And um, doesn't the emergence of shopping malls prove he was right? It's just his idea in a different way.
