I was hungry, so I downed 2 Mt. Dew "White Out"s (54mg of caffeine, per can, much more than coke or pepsi ) and ate some candy since no one rang our bell this halloween

So on the way home we drove through this one spot where some construction had been taking place but now they were mostly done. In short, they ruined the street...and this is going on around the state. The NYS Department of Transportation is taking steps to "calm" the traffic, which is code for making everyone drive much slower. In the past few years I've seen it happen from one town to another. They're putting in those terrible roundabouts to needlessly complicate things. 2 lanes are reduced to 1 so if you want to pass anyone you're out of luck, from now on you're stuck behind granny with 10 other cars. So what happened to the 2nd lane now that cars can no longer use it? They made it a bike lane, just in time for those winter biking enthusiasts. Now all 2 of the bikers in town have the whole lane to themselves, in addition to the sidewalks and the shoulder that they already had. So I guess they've solved the nonexistant bike congestion issue.
