"STOOOOP!!!"
Tails squeezed the trigger.
*BANG!*
The intruder dropped to the floor with a thud. Tails' hands were trembling, he dropped the gun to the floor. Umbreon sprung out of bed and ran down stairs.
"Tails whats happ... Oouwh" Umbreon slipped and tumbled down the stairs landing at next to the intruder. She found herself laying in a puddle of blood that growing by the second. She looked up to see the body laying face down. She turned the intruder onto their back.
It was Father Mulcahy. He was dead.
"I.. I... I.. thought it was a burglar." Tails felt weak in the knees.
"Ahhhh...!!" Umbreon shouted as she put weight on her foot as she got up.
"I think I broke my ankle." She quickly hobbled over to Tails and collected the gun. Tails was almost in tears.
"It's ok now Tails, listen to me. We need to get out of here before they come for us. I know a place we can hide. Help me get to the car ok?"
"I killed your Father" Tails replied.
Umbreon grabbed Tails by the shoulders and shook him. "Look at me, focus. There is no time to explain. We need to leave... right... now!"
Tails snapped out of his trance and let Umbreon put her weight on Tails. He helped her outside to car.
"You're going to have to drive Tails, I can't with my ankle like this."
"But haven't finished my driving classes yet, I don't have my license ..."
"You just murdered a preist, the last thing the police will be to concerned with is you driving without a license"
Tails started the car and pulled out of the driveway.
"Go left, Tails... no don't speed, drive normally we don't want to attract any attention" exclaimed Umbreon.
Tails was still a little drunk, but managed to keep the wheel steady.
"Where are we going Umbreon, why are we running, what are we doing to do, why did we not call the police, oh no I'm going to jail, I just killed your dad why are you helping me, whats going on, when are...?"
"Calm down Tails, we are going to a friends house. She just moved to Tennessee with her parents, so the house should be empty. We can hide out there while I think of what to do next."
"I need to go back. Why did we just leave your farther laying there?" Tails questioned Umbreon.
"The Farther is not my real farther, Tails." Umbreon confessed.
"WHAT! HE IS NOT YOUR..."
"TAILS WATCH OUT!"
Tails swirved narrowly avoiding a lamp post.
"Turn down here, and pull up at this house, we are walking from now on. I'll explain later, I promise"
Umbreon grabbed hold of Tails' hand and lead him down an alleyway.
"Here, help me over the fence, Tails"
Tails lifted Umbreon up onto the fence. He pushed up over, and she landed awkwardly on one foot. Tails followed shortly after.
"Ok we are there. We can get in thought this window, it has a broken lock" Umbreon whispered.
They slipped inside and tried to make out their sourrounding hidden among the darkness.
"Hello? Who is there?" a soft voice whispered in the night.
