reading stuff from the players at the invitational
apparently they got several hours of playtime
you also can't shield or crouch out of dash
and looking closer at gifs of combos and other big moments
it actually looks worse than brawl when it comes to followups
like
even small brawl-esq combos dont look to work, throw followups are nerfed into oblivion, and overall it seems like more knockback on everything but higher kill percents meaning chasing is hit hard

I didnt expect it to be good
I expected brawl 2.0 with a bit more weight, speed, and hitstun, honestly akin to a hybridization of brawl and brawl+
but it looks like it's just brawl made even shallower
it's pretty disheartening, tbh
ninty holds events like this to promote their game and say they care about their (competitive) fans but obviously the game's director is still dead-set on the brawl mentality of making it as far from competitive as possible
