Everyone should know at least the basics of cpr and if not that then know to turn someone on their side or not move them depending on the injury bandaging and whatnot is pretty self explanatory not sure what other first aid you'd need, that's the only immediate response stuff that matters until emergency care arrives maybe know how to work an AED but those things walk you through it anyway

You only need to know 112, 911 or whatever the emergency call is in the UK. Yes I know, you should know emergency first aid to help people who need it, but first of all, with all the technology and medicals nowadays that rarely happens, and secondly, even if it did happen, people would look at you like you're some crazy guy for helping someone and scold you for not calling the emergency number. Waveo, what are you going to do if someone is hurt but they don't need an ambulance. So much time is wasted at the emergency room where retards turn up there when they should have just gone and seen their GP and people who actually need the emergency room have to wait. So say your friend cuts their hand. They need sitches. But not going to die. Just needs a doctor or nurse probably who can fix you up. Are you going to do anything in the mean time while you drive them to the doctors? Like a bandage, or tie something around to stop the bleeding? Or just let them bleed out in the car and then by the time you have arrived they have lost enough blood to actually need an ambluance and go to the emergency room.

Oh, and the UK emergency number is 999. Simple and easy to remember. And to type if you only have one arm left or something.

I don't get why they're all different, wouldn't it be easier to have them the same, that way noone would forget? Oh and I think 911 also reroutes to 999 in this country because apparently there are too many people who have been brainwashed by American culture.

Might as well forget 999 altogether.

International differences will be international differences.
Of the emergency numbers, I think it'd be more likely for 3 numbers in a row to be pressed by some little kid or butt dialed or what have you.

In an emergency you're probably more likely to press the wrong numbers if it's not the same 3 in a row.

In an emergency, if you're not an idiot or hysterical you'll remember three numbers drilled into your head from a young age.

It's not the remembering the numbers tho if movies are anything to go by most people seem to ask "whats the number for 911"
It's that hitting the same number 3 times is a lot easier than hitting one number then moving to another number. Could easily hit another number by mistake. 951. 921 941 etc because in an emergency people have an adrenaline rush and are not so steady with hands. Especially if it's a silly small keypad of a moblie phone, or even a stupid touch screen. Man I hate touch screens. Just look how easy it is to hot the wrong key while typing. People make typos all the time.
