Since I run the gaming club we were like "Smash Tourney?" and they all go WOOO and we were like "Melee or Brawl" and all but two people went BRAAAAAWL and we were like "items or no items" they were like "no items" and it was cool
Strange how the opinions of everyone I know in real life are different than the opinions of everyone on the internet

Ha, school game clubs. Go be with the cool kids and join the robotics team. I did that last two years, but my time is too filled with, you know, games. And I have what is basically a robotics class now, so...

I tried my school's robotics team, biggest bunch of conceited, obnoxious, unpleasant individuals I've dealt with. And they didn't really accomplish much anyways, it's not like they've ever won before, nor gotten close...

64 is even more of a step down.

Now that it's been revealed that GM and I actually know each other IRL, I might as well comment on the Brawl tourney. I played as Zelda/Sheik, spamming fireballs, transforming, teleporting, and grabbing people left and right. However, considering I am teh suck at videogames, I lost pitifully. I think I actually fell of the stage at some point.
In my opinion though, I fought valiantly, and should be applauded for my effort.

64 is even more of a step down. Depends. If you mean in terms of no. of moves/characters/stages etc then yeah. If you mean in terms of gameplay/mechanics/speed etc then (most of the time) it's a step down from Melee

Not to have another opinion battle, but me and everyone in my club think Brawl is the best (though they seem to think it's still Melee because they keep picking Final Destination) and there's no way we could have done Smash 64, we don't even have a working N64

I have a working N64, and a copy of Smash. No working controllers, though. Wore out the joysticks in all of them years ago, damn Mario Party games.

Yeah, I only have one fully functional N64 controller. I reserved it for non-mario-party use and didn't let my brother touch it.
So many fun arguments over that. "Let your brother use the working controller!", "It only works because I don't let him use it.", etc. >_>
