A place for me throw my thoughts down.
A couple of years ago, after singing in Rock Band made my heart hurt, I decided I needed to get fit. I disliked the idea of using weights and whatnot; keeping equipment around just meant more clutter. Thankfully a bit before that I had come across a bodyweight exercise pamphlet. While not the highest quality, and the guy wrote wrote it was a bit of a blowhard, I liked the general philosophy behind it.
And it has shown! I don't have any before/after shots except in my mind. Before embarking on working out, I was an odd mix of pudgy and scrawny. These days I look in a mirror and I'm actually pretty stout now! I'm not big or strong or anything, but I do have a decent physique.
So this topic is here to keep track of various physical labors I embark on. For instance, the other week I biked 15 miles to pick up my final paycheck at work and biked back. Oddly enough, I didn't feel a thing the next day. I'm definitely getting better at things.
Pictures and videos as I see fit. The more I get bugged for them, the less likely I am to provide.

That being said, I know my mom keeps yoga mats lying around here somewhere, but where!

"more" is the keyword there. I only asked once so far, and didn't bug you.

Point being you're not going to get something simply because you asked.

Better ask first rather than getting nothing for sure.

Why do you wish to hear me sing, anyway? Do you not value your eardrums?

Enough of this! I have some adventures to post!
Just a little light exercise today. I decided I needed to do more, though. Some googling indicated that there was a waterfall nearby, so I hopped on my bike and went to check it out.
This place is much hillier than New York! I' going to have a heck of a time finding it.
So, I bike a few miles to what I thought was my destination. It's a park trail. I lock my bike up and go.
Except the trail forks off. I didn't get directions, only a general area. I decide to follow the Boulder Dash rule and hang left. Quite pretty. I never thought I'd say this state is actually more beautiful than upstate New York. Especially where I'm located. Anyway, lots of trails. First dead end I hit was an abandoned house. Why was someone living all the way up here at one point? The whole property was run down and overgrown. The way to it also had an old phone booth just off the trail. Very random thing.
After heading back, I look at the next fork. We've been getting lots of wind and rain here, so a huge tree hand fallen, and the branches had landed right on the trail. O thought that path had to be blocked, but closer inspection revealed that the leaves were trampled already and some of the bigger branches were chainsawed, so I continued my merry way.
Hit a few more forks, and eventually hit a river. Thinking this is the river that the waterfall was on, I head downstream. This takes me very much off the beaten path. A couple of times I decided I wanted to cross. Once, it would have taken a standing leap across a six foot gap. You ever watch a ferret as he tries to make a jump? He'll just sit there, prepping, angling, judging, perfecting... I felt kinda like that. Eventually, though, I decided no. I continued and saw a large tree hanging across it. After a quarter of the way over, nope, it starting wobbling. I didn't trust it, so I headed back.
A little later, I hit another path along some private property. Walking some more, I hit a bridge, then a road that ran along the river. Following the road took me nearly a mile down the path I took to get to the trail in the first place!
Walking back to my bike, I see a playground. I notice the monkey bars are pretty high off the ground, so I took a pitstop and did some upper body exercise. After that, I went back to my bike and decided to continue further.
After another mile or so, oh hey, there's the trail I'm looking for! Lock the bike up again, hit the road, and yup, small waterfall. After a short while I took my shoes off and hiked upstream in the river.
A halfmile or so this way, I decided I was done. Headed back down to my bike. Oh sheesh, biking home was no fun! Part of the route I took involved a huuuuge hill, and now I had to climb back up it! I couldn't make it. My rear derailleur needs some tuning, but regardless I had to get off and walk the last three hundred feet of the climb.
All said, I had fun. I was dead dog tired when I got home, and my shirt was sopping wet with sweat. I need to do stuff like this more often!
