France sucks because it's too durned liberal. This goes for a lot of countries and even some US states. If I had to leave the US I don't know where I'd go since all the other countries kind of stink in comparison. I'd have to found my own nation somewhere. i do believe that is a direct quote from a book, and as we all know, books only contain the truth |

Since this topic is about America, then lets talk about it.
Whats the deal with tipping? Why do people tip? They are already getting paid for the job when you pay the bill they should not get any more extra. But from what I understand it's expected in all kinds of service work in America.
What happens if someone asks for a tip and you say no? What if you can't afford it? What if they did a terrible job?

Tipping is an American pastime, so like with all our pastimes if you say no to it you are basically a merciless, unchristian, Godless communist. Everyone can afford to tip because this is America and we are successful. |

I read on the internet the reason they get tips is because Americans get poorly paid and they depend on the tips. Without they they don't earn enough to live on. Well that's because the internet is made up of idiots. People do earn enough to live on. There's a lot of other countries where people are way poorer and they don't get tipped. What you're thinking of are those people who can't keep their legs closed and have like a bajillion illegitimate kids and don't know how to manage their money so they leech off welfare and buy stupid things like a new flatscreen TV thinking it's a human right.
