I'll post my Bioshock American blog later on, but right now I'm just going to rant about how much PC gaming sucks.

I want to play Portal. I got it when it was free on Steam. But I could not run it. Then I forgot about it. Yesterday I was on steam adding a friend and I noticed I had two games. I know I have HL2 but did not remember about Portal.

Anyway, yesterday I ran it through that systemrequirements site and the test came back successful. So this morning I decided to download Portal once again and give it another go. After installing the game I clicked play. I was then told I needed to update my graphics driver. So I had to go to the website, find my graphics card, then download the driver. Ok cool, clicked install. Got about half way and I was told I needed to install a framwork thing so the installation could run.

Oh joy, I downloaded another program and installed that. But oh no it can't be that easy. It gave me an error saying there was an error with windows installer initialising program. Fffff

So I closed that program and went to open firefox to see how to fix the error. But there was another window behind the error message asking me to reset the computer.

So after restarting the I double clicked on the portal icon. This time no message about drivers. Weird, must have some how installed it or something. Time to play. Nop you can't play yet Ally. Now Steam is telling me the game data is fragmented and I need to defrag it. How the hell does it get fragmented when I just downloaded and installed it!

Finally as I type this up it has completed the defrag and is saying I can click play after jumping though hoops for 3 hours.

So in conclusion before I click play I'd just like to say PC gaming sucks. Inb4 "get a new computer" because my Xbox is almost as old as my computer and can run the latest games and look super sexy.

I kind of expected but didn't want to say. >_>;

And don't be too eager, as a recent recipient of a load of expensive PC bits I can tell you it's a right pain in the neck. Starting to wish I'd just paid over the odds to have someone else take care of it.

Ok so I have to install drives, but the drivers need some sort of installer but it can't work because I'm missed some frameowork thing, but I can't install that because I need to install a WIC (?) first.

So I've installed the WIC. Now I'm able to install the framwrok. That will allow me to install the driver installer thing, which all allow me to install the drivers, and then the drivers should let me play the game.

After this I seriously hope the PC gaming industry dies in a big fire fueled by piracy.

Harmies has been wanting me to get Skype for a while now so then he can go on webcam at the same time as Tails and have a big ol' naked webcam show.

But lets go back over a year ago first.

So I'm playing on my 360 la dee da I'm signed into msn on my 360. Then all of a sudden a get a bunch of angery messages from Jake talking about some chick named Alison and explain myself else he's gonna block me. I don't know wtf he's on about, and I'm not really paying attention because I was kicking ass in a FFA match of MW2.

Anyway I go on MSN and it turns out he had done that facebook thing where it tries to find friends in your MSN contacts list. You can also just stick an email into facebook search and find if someone has an account. So when the search brought up my email it had someone else. Not the sexy blonde Ally from NZ, but a dark haired brown skined Alison from California. Thus Jakes rage.

Now what the hell is going on here?

So I decided to try sign into facebook using my email address. I used the forgotten password function to get a new PW. Then I signed in to facebook. I was able to sign into Alison's profile. I look in settings and my email address is the only one linked to the profile. WTF?? I deleted her account.

Other times I've gotten random emails from someone thinking I'm someone else, or getting people adding me on MSN. I once had a guy add me on MSN but he got the email wrong and there were numbers at the end of his friends email. So I thought ok maybe they add me because it's a popular email but I've got the original.

Getting back to today; I went to sign up to Skype only to find my email had already been registered. Not this again. After using my email to get into the account it belonged to a guy called James who lived in the UK. WTF? I deleted his account.

I was talking to Harmies at the time. He told me that hotmail account expire. I always though they were forever. But sure enough, if you don't login to your email after 30 days it becomes deactivated. All contacts and emails are deleted and any emails sent to the account won't get delivered. If you don't reactivate your account before 90 days the account becomes available again for anyone to register to.

So at least 3 people have used my email address. It explains a lot of things, and also why my email account gets spammed to hell.

That's pretty bad though. If your email expires and someone else gets it, they could gain access to all kinds of things, facebook, paypal, internet banking, even steal your identity.

So it's a good thing to not use hotmail for anything thats super personal. Gmail never expires so use that account for your important accounts.

Can't log into that one E-Mail address I made. did you know I originally intended to have a Jolteon alt? Yeah it was that E-Mail. Maybe it deactivated due to not being used at all since I thought of SU immediately afterwards.
