gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=50203This guy is only 2 mana but it comes with super-deathtouch. Doesn't even need to deal damage, or hell, finish the combat step, and it'll drop guys. The only real downside is combat will go on long enough for the guy to take a hit even if you give him first strike.

I dont understand the question. Ok, a more practical example. Say the guy you're screwing has a thing for shouting out the letter of your middle initial during orgasm. Is that initial the beginning to your middle or last name?

Eh, different uses. That Ambush Viper would only get the one guy he blocks, and even then only if the enemy doesn't have flying, protection, first strike, etc. Tangle Asp just wrecks all of the things without even needing to deal damage.
Asp doesn't target, doesn't need to deal damage, the blocked/blocker just dies, end of story. It's also a handy bluff if you want to make sure the enemy keeps their creatures tapped; they'll probably expect you to force blockers on it.

Was looking around tcrf.net and found a bit of profound unused dialogue in GTA: Vice city
Ken: "Ok, ok. I know, you know. I know. I was, I was just, you know, telling you I know, that you know, that I know. Just keeping it sharp baby!"

It's also a handy bluff if you want to make sure the enemy keeps their creatures tapped; they'll probably expect you to force blockers on it. so does ambush viper, it just has flash in addition to deathtouch in exchange for 1 less toughness you throw out a tangle asp and they drop some cheap removal spell and then bam, they can attack safely with whatever they want ambush viper is leagues better simply because you don't have to show your hand a turn in advance you can play it as a regular creature and it'll do the same job as tangle asp (although it'll die to a 1/1, but why the hell would you block a 1/1 with a deathtouch creature, block something bigger or just eat the ping) but has the additional benefit of being able to act as a removal spell that doesn't have to target anything as long as they're attacking, meaning you can wipe out something like gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=201835 because deathtouch doesnt target tangle asp falls short the same way in terms of losing out to things with flying, deathtouch, first strike, etc if you use it to block, and there's no reason you couldn't use ambush viper offensively, it only loses out to asp there if they have a 1/1 to block, anything stronger and the trade's the same, but if they dont have that 1/1 and choose to take the damage over losing bigger creatures ambush viper hits them for 2 a turn instead of 1 it's just better, and if you're that worried about a 1/1 you're running a green deck, pack a few cheap kodama's mights and you're fine and they're useful in so many situations

The biggest difference is that Tangle Asp doesn't need to deal damage at all, while even if you force 20 blockers on Ambush Viper you only kill as many targets as the Viper has power. Also, things like Fog or Momentary Blink let you keep your Asp AND kill anything it went into combat with. Can't do that with deathtouch.
