Perhaps ironically after bringing up the mod who never gets moderated for his frequent Holocaust comparisons, I got a warning because I opposed someone in Congress who just did that.

Ilham Omar jumped in to define "concentration camps" as "any camp where people are concentrated" - now, to those of you that can read, note that this was HER definition and that I was opposing it - if it isn't obvious enough from also noting in the message that she has made many anti-Semitic statements and that her definition was so "extremely low and flawed" that it would wrongly include any time I went camping with the scouts. I repeat: HER definition vs MY response, these are 2 different things, if my open belittling of the flawed definition did not make it obvious.

But in a mod's mind, this boils down to:

I'm starting to think that Gamefaqs exploits the labor of troubled individuals for free. I still think some of them do it for the power, but I get the feeling that something else is going on with some of them as well.

Oh, and the cherry on top: go read the topic title - I can't link to it because it's "offensive" under the mod's definition. Go read the topic title, it's the latest 500 topic on board 261, you tell me how a mod missed that whole thing and singled out my message. You tell me how that happens.

Maybe it had something to do with TC singling me out and calling in one of his friends, perhaps that's how my message was so twisted and distorted (you can still read it for yourself because as usual, anyone quoting me has no problem reposting it). An entire 500 topic slides and this "rule" only applies to me, again. One of his mod friends. If you have a better motive behind this I'd like to hear it.

This is another case where I don't go out of my way to get moderated, I don't stir up trouble, I don't expect to get moderated for statements that are basically in line with the US Holocaust Memorial's press release condemning the false comparison. These are just obvious, decent positions I take and they aren't controversial. I don't go out of my way to troll but mods go out of their way to be obnoxious and wrong about so many decisions they make.

Gamefaqs exploits the mentally challenged for free labor? This is not so much an insult at this point, more like a serious question. Do they know how to read?

They're not technically moderator decisions but from this board specifically, it's basically the guy in charge has to take things down that they don't like if he wants to keep the board. Good deal for them - even less accountability and no appeals.

This one's from back in June because a lefty is still buttmad about it, their psyche being as fragile as it is.

I asked this after Error1355 said that any go-back comment is "blatantly racist," so the question is, why can a mod make a generalization like that but it's 7 days in the hole to do less?

As a little reminder of the Gamefaqs labyrinth of rules that goes into their nonsense: it is not OK to make "generalizing statements" against groups - a rule that is enforced so terribly that they even had their former community manager defending a moderation of someone who criticized ISIS, because he was "generalizing" bad things about ISIS. Gamefaqs was willing to play defense for ISIS, but not for this question of mine.

Generalizing is something that Error did - you'll note that my question is meant to point out the absurdity of the position and talk it down from the generalizing statement - which again is a thing they refuse to let you do and moderate you for (if you're criticizing ISIS, at least), but if you're a mod or a mod friend and there's some group out there you don't like, go nuts. It's one-sided as anything they do.

So with that in mind, as opposed to my rule-abiding question about what comments are "racist," will Error be demodded or suspended as well for blanket stating (not asking) that people (not comments/behavior) are racist?

If I get 7 days from asking for a restatement or clarification of a suspension-level post that Error made, wouldn't that mean 1 of 2 things? Either Error should be demodded/suspended for his suspension-level trolling...or what I asked was not a moderation and Error was wrong.

I'm gonna say Error was wrong and this was another one of those buttmad child moderations of theirs.

This appears to be another one of those cases where I put up a news article without any opinionating, and it gets taken down because some people don't like the information.

My only input in the topic is noting that 6,000 is a bigger number than 6. My assumption is that mods can count. Another assumption is that mods would be concerned about reports of transition therapy deaths (also being a much larger number than conversion therapy's zero), I would assume that mods care that trans kids are being seriously injured or dying - as the patients and their families report themselves - though an uphold would expose how completely phony the site's position is. I will continue to fight for life and human rights regardless of these obstacles.

While I understand that my ideas are certainly unique (such is the way of a genius), there is no honest reason why my message was the first + only message to be taken down for a time, and from my memory there was really no reason to remove the other ones either. People can usually tell when mods have hit a topic because you will see a line of [message deleted] followed by a personal insult and then another message deleted followed by another personal insult, in other words every on-subject message will be removed while the trolling/insults that do nothing but attack other users remain...including that very topic where it ends with someone falsely accusing another user of being a white supremacist just because he read the Bell Curve - something that was on half my teachers' shelves - and they didn't even get the user right that they were attacking, so it was a smear plus smearing the wrong person.

This is just the background stuff so you're aware that I actually know what's going on in the topic, meanwhile the mod staff is either unaware or actively making topics like this one worse. A lot of people simply choose to leave the site rather than put up with a mod staff that enables trolling, harassment, account hijacking etc. as it's gone on for several years now. It is well-known that trolling is the biggest spam category for marked messages, and it's often the best friend of people who are trolling but want to project that onto their targets. And you can see the results of that when a modded topic looks like [relevant message deleted] vs. personal insults that stay up, as mentioned above. This is a known problem. You have the chance to reverse it here by overturning.

I could go deeper into the logic here about Omar and reasoning that my comments are only problematic if she herself shows 0 respect to 9/11 victims, but if not and she respects them then I have respect too and there's no problem here, but I think everyone knows this. Both you and I know it. Nothing about this is a warning violation, a certain mod just wants to keep up the warn chain on this account which is behavior that has been confirmed by Allen, so they picked from my most recent AMP and thought of reasons to feel offended.

Of course, none of this behavior has stopped me before and has only given me plenty of justifiable reasons to criticize the mod system, so it would really save a lot of time and trouble for all those concerned to quit starting every conflict, get over their grudges with me and move on. No one asked for the mod's opinion here, but if they want to give it they should leave it to posting on Politics if they want to be productive and contribute.

45 days for this is an extreme "I got that guy over nothing" and I think someone needs to say this to you directly, even if it ends up with another 15 days because you need to hear it from someone. This should not be your hill to die on. There is nothing to be proud of here by worsening the site's reputation further and hampering political discussion that at this point, due to the site's poor practices driving the traffic away, something like 5 people are actually going to read. I hope this is a wakeup call to someone and I pray to God you aren't still doing this when you're in your 40s.
