Isn't that EXACTLY what the TC and poster right above me said? "ANYONE able bodied on welfare is a deadbeat and they pass those values onto their offspring" etc etc and they go on how abortion will eliminate these genetically-inferior "future problems" of people on welfare. So what do you want from me? "Sure, genocide is a great idea"? Guess that's apparently acceptable discourse here, but don't you dare oppose it.
How odd of you to claim by the way that it's "offensive" now to say my opponents want abortions. Go ask them and they'd agree, would they not? Do they not say abortion is the answer to poverty? And yet we allow people to openly advocate pro-abortion policies (the "offensive" action itself) but not opponents to point this out. I suppose if I quoted Mr Eugenics up there you'd say I was "quoting a violation" while leaving the original untouched. If you want to know why the moderation staff is widely considered to be a joke, it's because of moves like this.

What other users post is completely irrelevant to this form. Your post itself was quite offensive, as per your usual norm, and thus was fairly moderated.

all I can say is it's funny how it's a tragedy when it happens to americans, sad if it happens in the rest of the west, and a non-event when it happens to anyone else.
would I have got modded for discussing the political implications of the newest Israel/Palestine suicide bombing? I think not. After all, that's not a tragedy... even if it kills 20 times more people.

But it's never offensive to say these things in the first place and make blanket allegations about how the side that wants to see kids live under adoption is the REAL group that hates kids. We allow this view apparently out of "tolerance" and "acceptable discourse" which, for some reason, does not apply to me. Why not?
We have established that the topic creator, the poster above me, referred to welfare recipients as "deadbeats" who pass this trait on to their offspring, and abortion is the answer to end future poverty. I'm naturally not going to quote any of that but I felt I would address it. I am not introducing anything new to this argument nor am I making a strawman. The same poster affirms right after me that he indeed thinks these people are "inferior," as I stated. To mod me for this would be like modding someone for messages that oppose Nazi views, and there really isn't much of a difference here imo. It's the same hate-the-poor, eliminate-the-genetically-deficient stances coming from my opponents.
What is my "usual norm"? What a strange thing to bring up. So other messages are supposed to have no bearing on mine (except they do, as this is a dispute over whether I'm reflecting their views accurately, which I am). Yet my disputes are to be judged based on other, unnamed messages from who knows how many months ago? Look, if someone has a personal problem with me they can bring it up in an open setting and we can have a debate over it. But to say 1) my opponents aren't saying anything I attributed to them, while they clearly are, and 2) none of what they said was offensive but my summarization/opposition was, is completely absurd. The only difference between what I said and what they said was that I opposed it...and I believe moderations over things like that are done out of partisan motives.
As long as we're on the subject of my "usual norm" because that apparently matters now, the ratio of modded to unmodded messages is at least 1 in every 200. I'm up to...over 1,200 karma now. How many more years would it take to convince them that I'm being sincere? Or will that day never come? Because the "usual norm" I've seen from the moderation staff is to operate like there's a troll boogeyman around every corner, act on ridiculous messages (especially around new moderator time) and then double down when challenged. Well, that or call me a troll and issue death threats. Because, you know, they can't possibly ever be incorrect. That'd just be out of the question.
Oh, and just one part I forgot about "usual norms"
I think I'd have a better idea of what people on the politics board thought, instead of an outsider's assessment which is clearly proven wrong if they just took the time to look at the posts sandwiching mine.

Like clockwork, last moderation's expired so it's time for a new one
A young Barack Obama gets $5 from his mom to get ice cream. He doesn't think this is enough. So he reaches into the purse to take $100. When his mom scolds him he says "But uh, I was able to buy way more and uh, all the other children like me mom. I uh, told all the other kids to do the same thing with their parents!" Barack's mom decides she was being too judgmental, for her son is just an amazing compassionate person who cares about the little kids. She looks the other way,
Next week Obama demands more. He throws a tantrum and won't do anything unless he can spend more on ice cream. His mom decides his self-esteem must be low so she gives him $10. This isn't enough though. Now Obama's mad. This is an injustice. He steals $150 this time. He's on top of the world, the children seem to think he's likeable enough. The ice cream man's cleaning up. Some of the other kids even try to imitate him by taking money from their parents, but no one is as successful as Obama. Barack promises them even more ice cream next week.
Next week Obama reaches into the purse. There's no more money. The kids start turning on him. Several parents are mad that their money has been stolen for frivolous things. Obama responds by throwing another tantrum. He's compassionate! You think they should be thanking him! It's all the other kids's fault! And they should be thankful he didn't spend $200 instead, like he planned! Why, he should get a reward for that.
What would a good parent have done with Barack Obama?
