That's also a big problem with a lot of the furry fandom in general. A lot of people like what they do to the point of fetishizing it, and then they feel the need to call it a lifestyle, tell other people about it in the hopes of finding a common interest, as if having a common fetish should be anything less than awkward conversation.
I mean, most trekkies don't want to fuck alien species or people wearing Starfleet uniforms just because they happen to be wearing said uniforms. Their fandom circles around nerdiness in general.
The furry fandom revolves around a fondness of some sort for some facet of animal anthropomorphism, be it instilling human emotions or behaviors upon real animals, or funny talking animal illustrations or animations, or animal people, or people wearing body paint or costumes. But yeah, a lot of it is probably deeply rooted in a weird fetish, whether that fetish plays out as sexual interest or merely a clean obsession, it's still a fetish. Except that there's the added complication that a lot of the clean art appeals to or is even largely designed to appeal to children. And then people start sexualizing them, and it really weirds out the relatively mainstream crowd. Scaring away potential fans, bringing the ire of parental guidance groups who monitor things which may corrupt the little kiddies out there.
Yeah, watch it. First they outlaw cartoons of underage characters because pedophiles use the cartoons to teach kids about sex they'd like them to perform. Then they outlaw all cartoon porn at all because it could be used to corrupt minors in the same way. Then they move to outlaw conventional porn because children should not be exposed to that either. Children should learn what to do by going through an awkward thing called "the talk", which often does not involve anything resembling sex education. And eliminate public school sex education, too. They don't need to be taught how the reproductive system works, they can discover it on their own when they strip naked in the company of their lawfully and religiously married spouse.

It would probably be easier to ban real porn than cartoon stuff. It can legitly be argued there's free speech involved with the latter, not the former.

German courts have already determined that no porn qualifies for copyright protection. So take all the pirated furry porn there. Of course, knowing paid furry artists, they'd probably use their wealth to seek extradition.
