Nocturne has a an odd dungeon where in stead of the game's regular random battles, you get Dante from the Devil May Cry™ Series shooting at you in real time to whittle down your health bar. Every now and then he'll run up to you to start an actual fight, but all he does is kill one of your demons in one shot before running anyway. I suppose the idea was to exhaust all the demons in your stock until you're the only target then it's game over. It's not really an issue as you can keep reviving your demons without spending too much resources. Sooooo a bit of an oversight I guess.
Anyway, once you get to the end of the dungeon he fights you for real. Had this happen once I got him to his second phase.
"Playtime's over. Let me show you how grown-ups fight!"
Cue him missing his ultimate move on everyone and then dying to a single crit on the same turn.
The following cutscene is pretty much, "pfft, I wasn't trying to kill you anyway."

Nocturne optional boss fight against Beelzebub.
First phase:ez pz, this dork has no way of countering my buffs/debuffs
Second phase:Oh what the hell, he countered my debuffs
I would have to spend 4 turns maxing out buff and debuff stacks. He was able to to wipe both our slate's clean in a single turn, so buffing wasn't viable. And without them it's a hard boss even with a team with resistances suited specifically against him. The reason being is that his HP pool is huuuuge. 15k, triple the size of any boss you had to fight so far. And without buffs, your damage output goes from 800~2000 to an inconsistent 300. All the while he's pelting down on you, which is hard to deal with since there's no consistent source of mana needed to fuel heals.
So I said the hell with that, I'm going to keep my buffs. Buffed up and drained his mana before he entered his second phase. Took around 20 minutes of mashing X since I could only take 300 of his 10k mana pool every turn. He didn't have the mana to cleanse the buffs by the time I let him move on to his second phase, so I went ham and did 4k every turn.
Dante from the Devil May Cry™ series was so impressed he joined my team not long afterwards.

Harlie and his groupies are in, GM took a code but I don't think he installed yet.

Finished Nocturne. Made a world where lonely betas can be happy.
Funny how this game had characters that acted like dicks to you, some of which just admit that you're just a convenient tool to them, coerce you in to choosing their ending. Once you get their ending they change their attitude and give you a "Congratulations, Shinji" moment. Other SMTs will have characters who are friendly to you coerce you in to an ending and then make the tones of every ending slightly depressing

Too bad These last two sidequests are collectable quests... featuring materials you can only find, not trade for. Well at least I'm almost done with them, but this could take a while.

600,000 matches. I think this is the actual halfway point since it's half past my faster grinding, and reached the 100 day countdown mark.
Picross made my brain hurt but now I'm all tap tap tap more please. Even did a legendary without cheating!

Xenoblade chronicles x.
When your character goes in to overdrive a song starts playing and I've been seeing videos of players perpetually extending overdrive so that the song starts looping.
I wanted to be a part of the cool kid's club so I made a makeshift build that could potentially keep overdrive going. The only problem is the class I chose wasn't meant to be that efficient in overdrive so I either fight enemies that are too strong that kill me or enemies that are too weak and die before the chorus kicks in.
Took control of one of the PCs that had the appropriate class and fought the biggest thing in sight. Holy shit that fight had to have last for 10 minutes. I realized that the reason my character's class can't have a proper overdrive build is because the class is way too bursty and overdrive turns burst in to DPS. While the other classes have close to full invulnerability, they'll take forever to whittle down what my character does in the second that it's alive.

Finally beat that danged alien.
Had to level up Backslash like twice and then use it every chance I got. Screw Soul Voice.
Well I'm done with that. Time to class change to Partisan Eagle. Aww ye, combo boys.
