Japan. West and East make them entirely differently. Personally I cant stand eastern RPG's. On that note, Guess what a WRPG is...

And yes, there are Western RPG's. - eg. Mass Effect, KoTor, Fallout. All western and Brilliant. Well, ok, maybe Mass effect isn't brilliant, but it is good...

Personally I like JRPGs. It's kinda funny in a way, I hate boredom yet I have no problems with JRPGs' boring battle systems. As long as they aren't too boring, of course, waiting for 20 seconds between your every turn is just argh.
Also, Disgaea ftw.
Also, RTS = Real-Time Strategy. Disgaea is TBS, or Turn-Based Strategy.

Not Ultima, or Diablo, or Fable, or Mass Effect, or Gauntlet, or Dungeons and Dragons. Disgaea is alright, I never had the patience to beat it, too much overleveling and gamebreaking required.
I just started playing Valkyrie Profile for my psp, it's pretty awesome.
Street Fighter 4 is alright, too, but I like Street Fighter 3 most of all.
Melty Blood is nifty too, and my friend let me borrow his discs so now it's on my computer and I get to play it every day, wheeee.

Also, RTS = Real-Time Strategy. Disgaea is TBS, or Turn-Based Strategy. Examples... Rome Total War = RTS Advanced Wars = Turn based Strategy Disgaea is technically a turn based strategy but is labeled as an SRPG (Strategy RPG) Just read the back of the case

By the way, I don't consider Brawl as much of a fighter I guess you could call it a party fighter or something
