3 attack buttons is plenty
3 isnt too little, there are other well known fighters with only 3 (Soulcalibur for instance)

I like Soul Calibur, but too much of the metagame depends on knowing every detail about every single move every character has. You have to know things like Siegfried stepping back every so slightly and holding his sword flat means sidestep, him edgeing forward and holding it tip down means guard high, etc. Just ticks me off when button mashing can win a match simply because you haven't memorised exactly what way each moves' startup means you need to block.
On a related note, anyone else have the PS3 version of the game?

Soulcalibur is okay I only have SC2 for the gamecube, which I baught because I saw it used for $7 and couldnt resist
