I don't know, the mechs are just too... light and bouncy. I don't think they even have customisation either. I guess it depends whether you subscribe to Western or Eastern philosphy on mechanised bipedal armour design. Western Mechs are more like heavy heavy tanks, not very manuverable (though often there are smaller more agile mechs in lower weight classes), they're treated more like a vehicle, whereas Eastern mecha are of course jump jettin close combat punchin air flyin parkour machines, more like an extension of the body than a vehicle. Often they have stock weaponry which is part of their design unlike Western Mechs which have interchangable parts and are not anthropomorphised or personified. (except transformers I guess but I wouldn't consider them mechs really)
So I guess the Hawken mechs are a cross between the two as far as I can see. They just don't remind me very much of MechWarrior/BattleTech, but maybe that's not a fair comparison to make.

I never liked MechWarrior, or at least the MW2 demo, due to vehicle controls. I did like the Shattered Steel demo, which had FPS controls. Customizable loadout, too.

Wait, so TWEWY characters are in Kingdom Hearts the floor is lava3D? Does that mean I have to play TWEWY now?
Then I got to thinking, maybe other Square things can be in Kingdom Hearts. Then my mind immediately went to Mickey Mouse fighting biomechanically augmented heartless alongside Adam Jensen.
What the hell? That shouldn't be the first thing that comes to mind when I think Square-Enix.
BUT THAT'S TOTALLY AWESOME

controls are very odd, but probably something you could get used to
may consider picking up a circle pad thingy

Yeah when I looked at the controls I was like "what" but I started warming up to it.
I might pick up the game, I already have the PS2 version though.

I haven't played any of the MGS series. I even own a copy of MGS4, too, unopened.
And I only played the NES version of Metal Gear long enough for the truck have started to move.
