Lol Noobs
Lemme give you a run down: It's a fast paced 2D Fighting game similar to the style of othe VS games by Capcom. Unlike the previous versus games and Street Fighter Games, there are only three attack buttons, weak, medium and strong (since Wii motes don't have that much buttons anyway). The attack depends on directional input before pressing the button. For example, pressing Down, Down-Right, then Right + a medium attack (or alternatively, a quarter circle from down to right on a controll stick) as Ryu will result in a Hadouken (a move where Ryu throws a blue fireball). Combos are WAY faster and more complex than SSB will ever be. Combos depend on the timing of your buttons plus which ones you press in sequence as well as aiming. For example: say you have a multihit crouch attack. If you go into the next move to fast, the attack will only hit before cancelling once and the desired outcome won't be made. If you wait and then attack, you could get more hits in, and say the opponent is lauched up, that means you should stop crouching. When the opponent is lauched high into the air, you jump and do a few more hits. Blocking is also simple, you just press backwards. If you stand, you are vulnerable to low attacks, but if you crouch, you're vulnerable to overhead attacks. There is a Life bar which depletes when you attack, but will also leave behind a trail of life. If you do not get hit while the bar remains on screen, it will slowly refill to the point that the trail ends. A bar on the bottom determines when you can do specials, which are done with complex button inputs (quarter circle, Quarter Circle strong; Weak attack, Weak attack, forward, strong attack, medium attack). Each time you do a special, the bar depletes a certain amount. The bar depletes with specials but gets filled as you land hits and get hit. With bars filled higher, you can combo specials by canceling one into the other, for example, you can do a Shinkuu-Hadouken (Ryu's equivalent of Kamehameha) at close range and then cancel into a Hurricane kick. You can even counter specials with specials. Pressing two attack buttons at once results in a grab. At default, Each match has a 99 second time limit and a best two out of 3 match.
Got it memorized?
