Phew. That was good. I'm not sure I would call it the best anime in the world though...

I guess, but it lost a lot of points for me with all the flip-flopping around earlier...

the fact that you are never entirely sure if Lelouch is a manipulative, heartless bastard or not? That was one of the things I liked about this the most

Well, not that so much as nobody could pick a side and stick to it, and then the first part of the second series was just the first series in fast forward.
Also, I liked the sentiment of the ending, but I thought it lacked... flourish.

What do you mean with lacking flourish? I mean it was just like "Woo Lelouch got stabbed the world is saved". There was no dramatic finish or anything. And then you give us 30 seconds to talk about the world after Lelouch? The thing the whole series was leading up to? Wtf?

I mean, I liked it and all. Otherwise I would have stopped watching it because it was going nowhere COUGHNARUTOBLEACHCOUGH.

No, really. The rest of the series was at "POTATO CHIP!" levels of drama, but then the ending concludes quietly, with no real conflict. Now that I think of it, It might be refresing if an anime could do that the whole way through >_>
