It's just that I know most people and work 3 evenings a week with them, else I would've kinda kicked them in attempt to stay in the corner.....

Me neither, it's just that the people from my work know me two years. So they wanted me at the party badly. But I don't expect an another invite from them.....

Family parties can be good on occasion, but once they start dragging past the hour mark, it gets dull.
Especially annoying: They tell you to show up at a certain time for dinner. Dinner doesn't start until 45 minutes to an hour later.
