I just got a new idea for a thread. You can join in too if you want. It will be a similar format to the masturbation topic but slightly different. Each day you post what you did and at the end highligh one thing as the main thing you did. Then you take that main thing and keep it with the next days stuff. Then at the end of you month you will have ~30 days and the main thing you did that day. And so on. Then by the end of the year you will have a years worth of your daily life, then you can see how good/crappy your life is. I mean it could be interesting. But Ill hide the tally parts in spoilers so the posts don't get too massive towards the end of the year I guess. Since the day is only half done Ill post what I did today later on. By main thing I mean like the best most interesting or fun thing. I might work for 8 hours as the biggest part of my day but I might meet Hugh Jackman for 5 minutes and that would be my main thing. etc

I played Prototype for like, 8 hours when I should have been studying for my finals tomorrow, on Thursday, and on Monday. WELP hopefully the actuary companies that I'll eventually apply for won't care about what I got on English 1 or Bio for non-majors :/

I played Valkyria Chronicles when I should have been working... even though that game is frustrating as all hell.

You know Pyro, 3/4s or more of the world's population lives up here in the Northern hemisphere so it's our seasons that are objectively standard, yours are the weird ones

Well, we as Jews have many of our own holidays to take off from, so we can't really take off on Christmas and New years if we want to stay a legitimate college with a normal amount of days, so yeah. We only have 2 weeks off for Winter vay cay, which I guess is fine with me since that means I'll only be able to sit on my ass and do nothing for two weeks.

I played with my kitties, ate lunch while watching Judge Judy and The People's Court, browsed stupid shit on my computer for a bit. Ripped Home Alone from a DVD so I could upload that 20 second clip which was immediately content blocked. Uploaded it again to my personal host.
Attempted to join the Infinite Cat Project, but was told I need a better lit shot, so I'll try again tomorrow when the sun is up. Pity the one cat doesn't really start coming into my room to sit on my desk and "help me use my computer" until late afternoon, when the sun is quickly disappearing.

So today I spend 85% of my time in my bedroom as usual. I was looking for a game called sniper elite v2. I played the demo and its really neat. You shoot people and its got xray kill cams. Im a fan of over the top violent games and sniping niggers. So I'd like to play it. The demo on my computer runs very poorly. If i have it on nice graphics the framerate drops so badly sniping is impossible. If I put it down to budget graphics the lag stops but the game looks so bad its hard to see people who are really face away clearly. Else I'd get it on my computer.
So since I can't run it on computer I looked everywhere for the xbox version. However it seems to be a really hard to find game, in nz anyway. It's either sold out or the 1-2 shops that sell it have it for like $100. Even the Uk based shop that imports to nz is sold out and they were $50. I've read the review, and its not worth full price I know its a budget game so not paying a lot especially since its a few years old now. The are making a 3rd game, meant to be more sandbox and junk. Hmmmmm.
I then talked to Ferret on skype about stuff and watched 3 eps of Chuck.
So I guess the highlight of my day for day 1 of 2014 was trying to find sniper elite v2

Cause she's on the computer a lot and a pricer computer actually has a decent return on the price compared to a cheap one (unlike expensive cars - plus they cost way less)

Because I hate PC gaming. The amount of BS and hoops you need to jump through to get a game working. I mean its not even about having the latest gear inside your computer. I tried to get a older game running that my computer can run easy the other day, but wtf the music and ambient background sounds dont play. Gotta stuff around with that BS for ages until it works. Had another where the cut scenes never played and I had to stop playing after each level and to to YT to watch. Even trying to get that demo to run gotta stuff around with settings and stuff. Sometimes you gotta to deep into your actual computer setting to find it or some dumb solution like moves a certain file into another folder or something.
I like to download my games or put the disc in and they play straight away no BS required. I used to play games on my onld PC, but then I could not even play games that came out 6 months after I got it. So I got Doom 3 on Xbox instead and never went back to PC.

is it weird that the fact that games sometimes require a decent amount of effort to get working is part of why I love gaming on the PC? or, more specifically, why I feel the PC communities for games tend to care more as a result of the effort invested into getting the game running and as a result you end up with helpful people when you hit similar walls (and yay for seeing people help each other) as well as a modding scene (if possible) that generally tries to fix overly broken things (like the DkS PC port)
also, the fact that consoles are essentially plug-and-play are why I think it's a bit silly for PC and console gaming to even be compared I "pc master race" a lot but really I view pc gaming and console gaming as two very different experiences and two different beasts that aren't even really in too direct competition I personally just don't like console gaming anymore, it's an experience I no longer see as enjoyable but I think I've gone off on a digression so I'll stop as it's unrelated to 'wtf I did' and the day isn't yet done so don't have a proper answer to that anyway

Yeah I agree, they're different experiences and I think it's dumb if people try to convert others or get them to see their way.
