I'd been looking forward to it for a while now. But I was nervous. I don't know what to expect. I looked in the mirror to make sure I looked ok. I’m nothing great but good enough to trick drunk people into thinking I'm attractive in a dark room.
*BING BANG BUNG BONG*
My phone's text notification sounded. It was from the taxi I'd ordered telling me he was outside. I did one final touch up of my hair and locked up the house I was staying in. The driver greeted me and I gave him the address.
“Big night tonight?” he asked.
“It could be…” I was having visions of all the different scenarios that might have played out that night. I don’t think I could have seen what was about to happen even in my weirdest of dreams. The sun was starting to set. I checked my watch, 7:24pm. I looked up out the window. I’d never been in this part of town. Not that I’d had very much time to explore. Only been here 3 days. I’d not made any friends yet and was still unsure whether I should have even gone at all. Sometimes I wish my shyness had gotten the best of me that night and I had just stayed home.
The driver made some more small talk with me. It seemed to keep me at ease. I think he could sense I was on edge. We crossed the main bridge dividing the city and were almost at my destination. I kept looking at my watch. I hated to be late. The fear of missing out, and people waiting for me. It was a terrible feeling. The taxi pulled up to the curb and I gave passed my credit card to the driver. I looked at the building out of the car’s window while he was processing my card. I’d never seen a building so tall. They definitely did not build them like that were I was from. I could hear music coming out of the doors as other guests entered though. A feeling of dread passed over my body. I felt chills down my spine. I kept thinking about what might happen.
“Here you go all done” the driver held the card up to me. “Heey” he lightly grabbed my arm and brought my back from my day dream. “Uhhm cheers, thanks” I replied. I got out of the taxi and looked around the streets. There were some office buildings across the road. An upmarket BBQ place next door. It was a pretty posh area right on the water front. I sighed and went in.
The automatic doors opened revealing the main area. People were everywhere. All in fancy black tie dress. I’d never been to something like this before. I felt like James Bond. A waiter with a tray came by and offered me some kind of shrimp snack. I declined, and went over to the bar to get a better look of the place. The bar was up on the second floor overlooking the main area. A lot of people were standing around down there with drinks in hand. All in their little groups laughing and enjoying themselves. I walked over to the bar and waited for the bar tender to see me. It was pretty busy, and everyone was thirsty. I was happy to wait. I did not want to rush into things anyway. I had time. The whole night. Finally the bar tender got to my end of the bar and asked me for my order.
What the hell, I thought, tonight I am James Bond! “I’ll have a Vodka Martini”
As he made up my drink I scanned the room below again. There was a main stage on the opposite side of the room. A podium with a big TV screen on behind it. Some tables and chairs were arranged in front of the stage and then an open area where most people were standing around and talking. Second floor just had a bar and a few booths with some stairs leading up to the other levels. They were off limits to guests.
“Here you go 007” the bar tender placed my drink in front of me. I never really liked olives before and I don’t know why the put them in this drink. I picked it out and placed it on the napkin beside me. Well I hope this is good, I thought as I took a sip.
“Don’t like olives either?” A voice said from behind. I turned around to see a young man standing in front of me. Words were unable to form a coherent sentence in my mind to reply and I just sat there smiling and nodding. “I’ve never had a martini before, are they any good?” he asked. His eyes were locked into mine. I glanced away at the floor and when I looked back up he was still looking deep into mine. I felt so uncomfortable. He was handsome. Really handsome. His blue eyes kept staring into my soul. I wanted to run away, but I was frozen.
“….t…try it” I handed my glass to him. I watched him closely as he pressed his lips against my cocktail, and took a sip. “Yeah it’s not bad, I guess you have to be an alcoholic like James Bond to enjoy them though, haha” I smiled again breaking eye contact looking at his shoes.
“What’s your name?” He asked. “Ssssssssssam.” I said retardly. “Hey Sam, I’m Mike” He leaned in closer and drank the rest of my drink. “Here let me buy you another” His eyes still locked onto mine he leaned in even closer. I started to tremble. I did not know what he was going to do. I tried to sit on my hands to stop them from shaking. He tilted his head for a second but then moved away quickly. “Bar tender! Another martini, please, no olive!” I let out a sigh of relief. My heart was going a million miles an hour.
“So what do you do Sam?” Mike said as he looked up and down my body with a hungry look. “I just started a new job here in town, only just flew in this week” I said. “So you’re new in town and don’t know anybody?” I was still having a hard time making sentences. This damn shyness. I sucked down my martini. “Uhuh” I replied. Mike frowned “Well that’s too bad, maybe we can get to know each other a little better then.” He pressed his leg against me.
“Hey Sam I’ve got to do something real quick but I’ll be back after ok?” “Umm yeah ok…” Mike left me at the bar and walked down to the first floor. I got up and went over to the edge of the balcony. Watching him slide though the crowd. Reliving the past few moments in my mind. That was amazing. I’d never felt so alive before. What a rush.
Mike walked thought the crowd and up onto stage. He tapped the microphone and asked for everyone’s attention. Oh no! He was that Mike. Mike Jones, CEO of Edge Corp. But this could work to my advantage for my new job. Mike continued to speak as the crowd gathered around the tables. He was a very good speaker. He was seducing the crowd like he had seduced me. I went back to the bar to order another martini. By the end of my third the room was rocking a bit. I felt dizzy but at the same time I became more sure of myself. Mike was my target for the night.
After Mike made his speech he came off the stage and shook hands with some other management types. They were all much younger than him. He was only in his late 20s. Smart and handsome. My mind started to wonder. What was under that tux. After my fifth martini he had finally made his way back to me. He noticed the empty glasses around me, and raised his eyebrows.
“I uhh…” I started to blush, or was it just the blood rushing to my face from all the alcohol. “Would you like to maybe try something else to drink? Champaign maybe?” Mike asked. “I’ve never had that because….I mean before. Haha” I was fairly drunk now. I was hoping Mike was one to take advantage of me rather than be a good guy. “This party is boring, how about we go someplace else?” Mike said.
He took my hand and led me to the elevators. “It’s ok we can go up here, I own the building” He held my hand tight. I was starting to get nervous again. I looked back at the rest of the party. People were dancing to and drinking. Looked like a very non-boring party to me.
DING
The elevator doors opened and we went inside. “Which floor?” I asked, standing next to the buttons. “Top, I like to be top…” he smirked. The doors opened out to a large hall way with a few doors to the sides. But two large doors openings to another room at the end. We walked down the hall to the room. Everything was very expensive looking. The room at the end was an apartment. “Welcome to my home” Mike walked over to shelves full of wine bottles and selected one. “Ah this is better than any Martini” Mike opened the bottle and poured us some wine.
I took a sip and once again became lost in Mike’s eyes. He took the glass from my hand. “I don’t want to be too forward but…” he then leaned and lightly kissed my lips. I kissed him back, harder. He lead me over to his bedroom where a King size bed was waiting for us. I pulled off his jacket and shirt. He took my hands and pushed them against his body. He then took off his pants and stripped me down naked too. He forced me onto the bed and turned me away from him.
“This is my first time doing it like this…” I said. “Don’t worry…” he replied,
He slipped inside me and it hurt so much. But it felt so good after a while. After he had finished he put me on my back and began to kiss me more. “Ok it’s your turn” he said. He got on all fours and let me enter him from behind. We both moaned with pleasure.
After we had finished we laid on the bed out of breath. “I don’t normally do that with guys I just met, Sam, but you’re something special” Mike said to me. He then closed his eyes passed out.
I waited 10 minutes and then sat up. I looked around the room. The bedroom had three doors, one leading to the main room, a bathroom, and a door leading out to the balcony outside. I got up and went into the bathroom. There was nothing in the cabinets that was useful. I walked over to the balcony. Opening the doors let a rush of cold air into the bedroom. I checked to see if Mike was awake. He was too drunk to wake up. I looked over the edge. We were on the top floor and below was the harbour water. This would work.
I went back inside over to Mike and pulled him out of bed. He was still passed out. Such a gorgeous face. I managed to get him over to the handrail. My whole body was shaking, and I was still drunk. I kissed his face one final time before pushing him over the side. I watched his body tumble down and hit the water hard. I don’t know if the water killed him or he drowned but I waited several minutes and he never came back up. I went back inside and made the call.
“It’s done”
“Well done agent, your first assignment completed”
Endifications.
