Mom likes to use this metal griddle that she inherited from her grandmother to cook breakfast. Pancakes, bacon, egss, you name it, she'd cook with it. This morning I took a look at the other side, which I knew about, but never really thought to, and actually gave thought to it: this side is designed to cook bacon and other meats with. It has a grill on it to raise the meat up from the surface, and a trough along the edges to collect grease and other juices, and that little bump off to the side is supposed to be a pour spout. She has been alive twice as long as I have, and never realized this. It was always the one side. No more.

now you should learn to spell learned And thanks to that, I learned that learnt is another British English (aka proper English) variant like color vs colour. Along with a bunch other past tense, e.g. burnt, dreamt, spellt etc. ...I guess I'm gonna use this variant now, just to mess with people, and because eff US English.

But we eliminate the redundant u in many words. Because you Americans are that ridiculous. Trying to be unique, even though you speak the same English as the rest of the world. It's one of those everywhere else in the world but America things. And as long as it's not American, I'll be happy. At the same time, everything is provided by America nowadays, so as long as America provides the goods, I'll be happy.
