You don't necessarily need an HD TV to read the text and make everything not-blurry. HD does make everything look nicer though.

HD won't have any effect on Wii, and both the Xbox360 and PS3 have web browsers.

Wii has a web browser and HD does make even that look nicer. Especially if you have component cables.

Wiis on HD tvs get input lag most of the time, I can't play smash on an hd tv which is why I still have and plan on keeping a SD one
