If you don't already use this most excellent audio player, go here and learn all about it, then download it and install immediately. Then go here and marvel at all the crap I've churned out for it. Anyone who objects, well, would be living up to this forum's name. Feel free to post your excuses for using whatever other piece of crap player you prefer.

I use windows media player because it's already installed on the computer. I just stuck my music into the music folder and then I can just click play on the window and it opens up the player and then all my music is ready to go and play.
It sorts the music by artists or albums or song, and have a random feature.
Im not sure what more a music player can do for me. So I don't use anything else.

Yes, I got hacked by a spambot. She told me to post a topic on the forum.
So anyway, I got hooked on this little project back in 2003 or so, and eventually started developing for it. It's been a great learning experience. It also bought me lots of eFame.

Pshaw, you'll have to do something pretty special to get me away from VLC, that plays audio and video, so... whatchu gonna say to that?

Eww, VLC. For video, I prefer my Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, now with the LAV Filters and madVR renderer, for extra special quality. Yeah, foobar2000 is just an audio player. It will always be just an audio player. You do have a lot of audio, right? How is VLC's Media Library capability? Can it index all your files into a database for easy referencing? Create automatically generated playlists based on search query strings, which will automatically fill in with newly added or retagged tracks? So how would that handle a playlist like this one: Yup, that's the entirety of the modarchive 2007 snapshot torrent. 38 weeks worth of module files. The playlist file on disk is 120MB because it contains all the metadata. That's 120,000 files. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Oh yeah, and that thing at the bottom is Zao's Wave Seekbar component, which precalculates and renders a waveform of the current track, which you may click on to seek. Yeah, I'm a real social genius, I couldn't think of any other idea for a topic than an obnoxious spam post.

I put all my music into folders. It's still handy to be able to index it all with quick search queries instead of drilling through a file dialog regularly.

The number one thing I dislike about VLC is that it's too easy to screw up as VCL.

Ew, psuedoretro.
People who use the Win 98 theme on new Windows installations are the worst people.
