It was an idiotic experiment to begin with.

It wasn't about the experiment (In fact, Schrödinger never actually performed it), it was about the theory. The cat is alive and dead at once, yet that's not possible. So is the cat alive or dead?

But it's not alive and dead, we just don't know if it's dead or alive because we can't see into the box. That's why it's stupid, it doesn't demonstrate anything. It's like a tree falling in the forest, just because noone saw it happen doesn't mean it didn't.

Maybe he has a prize for physics but not common sense. Just because you cannot see if something is alive or dead does not mean it is both alive and dead, it just means you can't see.

You're too narrow minded

Mine o.o Maybe he has a prize for physics but not common sense. Just because you cannot see if something is alive or dead does not mean it is both alive and dead, it just means you can't see. Someone doesn't know what physics is about.

When you're talkin' hard science, that's exactly the point though. We may have no way of knowing what exactly is going on in the box, meaning the cat's state is unknown and could be either state, not that the cat is alive AND dead, as is proven upon observation 100% of the time.
It's just a really silly way of trying to get the point across on superposition and picking on the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, which are also totally silly, by the way.

...Does not compute.
