Because you can never reach absolute 0
Also using Celsius would sovle Americas global warming problem.

Okay okay, so Kelvin is the measurement of scientists but in non temperature matters or when explaining stuff to us dumb general publics it's metric all the way.

Imperial, not metric, is for the everyman. To convert would be of negligible difference, but cost a lot for no reason.

Metric is for everyman not in the US.

Jesus am I trying to have a decent argument, Nitro has to jump in and be all like "x is for everyman" without any real reasons. FFS, this is why people never come to an agreement.

Metric except long distances when I use miles, it's sad and unfederalist I know, but that's just how I learned it.

Ooh so some are clearly more useful for everyday stuff.
What about height?

I'm not saying it's any more useful, I'm just saying that's what I learned. I think I would rather it been km.
And yeah okay, you got me on height and body measurements in general, when I was a kid people were always measured in feet and inches (height) and stone (weight, it's a UK and ROI only thing it means 14 pounds).
But nowadays a lot of places want your height and weight in cm and kg instead, so I suppose I'll have to learn them instead. For weighing other stuff I always use kg, and measuring other stuff I always use cm... I guess it just goes to show that you learn what you're expected to.
Anyway, I look to our glorious pan-European standardised future!

Metric's decimals pretty much undermine claims it does even measurements. So there's not advantage there in everyday life. Fahrenheit is more accurate than Celsius without having to go into decimals and it doesn't dip below 0 temperature as much, so less negative numbers to factor in.

The point is standardisation. 10 millimetres make a centimetre, 100cm make a metre, 1000 metres make a kilometre... It just makes sense in a mathematic point of view which might sound important but I'm sure it makes life a lot easier for people who have to measure things for whatever reason. 10 ml makes 1 cl, 100cl makes a litre... I'm sure you can figure out how this goes from there.
It just makes sense.

Not really because it's harder to tell how many zeros to add/subtract and less likely to find mistakes

Ah, do what you like, imperial will go the way of the dinosaurs soon enough.
