I never said it was good or anything, it's just people are making a big deal out of it while it isn't.

There are just a few on the ground, which is knocked against the wall and out of the way.

console cables are easy enough to keep in shape if you've gotten used to moving them a lot I used to take my wii to people's houses a lot, really easy for me to sort out it's cables and ones from other consoles use a different outlet for pc power to keep those cables away from them, ideally put your pc on a different wall I try and keep the majority of my mouse cable on/along the back of my desk so it's easy to disconnect and move as needed power stays low, when I used a monitor that would go high as for your fancy speaker system, I dont have one so i dunno
while wires may and probably will look like a mess, that doesnt mean you cant understand and organize them in some way that allows you to work with them without much trouble (I personally dont like to bundle things because I like to be able to easily move and separate things without undoing ties and such) you just need to keep major things (pc and tv primarily) a bit separated

Ok so to sum up
acer and asus are good but also bad, hp are unreliable and dell don't make their own so might also be, toshiba is the only brand you both said was good.
I need minimum of 2.0GHz dual core what ever that is
At least 3GB RAM
At least 100GB HDD
Hmm.
Just to repeat why I need a laptop over a PC.
1) I can't set up a PC on my bed. 2) I can't Use a PC in my room and then bring it upstairs to the louge to use while I Tv/xbox, and then bring it down stairs again at night. 3) I can't bring a PC with me as carry on luggage 4) I can't go to starbucks and write my novel in public with my PC.

I personally disapprove how 99% of the list are quite about the graphic card and thus are likely to be integrated, and dislike how they're not giving full information. But that aside, the only laptop with enough power and under $600 is: www.computerdirect.co.nz/products/NOTTOS576D.asp?KEY=17240&grp=NOTMost under $600 of that list simply don't have a good enough CPU, and the ones that does don't have sufficient RAM. So the posted link seems to be the only good choice, but I recommend to look further first.

Yeah I noticed that while I was searching around, it's either got enough of one or the other but not both.
Ill have a look around some other websites. The major electronics stores are overpriced or suck, so I have to try find all these unknown websites that are just into selling computer stuff.

try newegg? they used to be really good, haven't been on in a while though, dunno about their prices now also, It'd probably be easier to figure out exactly which pc you want and then just search around for the cheapest place to buy it. Just because it's just out of your price range on one site doesn't mean you can't find it cheaper

Yeah I will just stick to buying local so then shipping won't cost more than the laptop, I can get it the next day, I am protected by the law if it's faulty, and I don't have to pay import tax.
I will be looking for a toshiba with all min specs Waveo said and see if I can get one under $600.

Local is always good, mainly because of the warranty. But online isn't that bad if you look at the right sites. Though shipping costs are often expensive... >_>

I've been looking all on the net and I think that one Waveo linked is as good as I'm going to get.
So should I buy that one for sure?
