Good idea, maybe you can carry it all the way until season 3 starts. I didn't make season 1 last until season 2 started, though.

Nah, if I'm going to really write this I'm going to have to watch all the episodes to get up to speed on all the races and characters, as well as society like Hearts and Hooves day and Hearts Warming eve or whatever it's called. Also I'm considering making it fanon that Earth ponies and Pegasi have a weak magical field that gives them limited hoof grasping power, otherwise it just gets too silly, I mean a sentient race with absolutely no dexterity? I don't know if I'd really call Equestria capitalist anyway, it seems more like enlightened Feudalism. But maybe I'm just biased from all the agriculture. I just thought it was a fun way to organise my thoughts on the status frustration of Equestria.

Perhaps biological warfare is a little heavy for an MLP fic... Yet I think it's a good idea, it can explain the food shortages and the racial tension. I'm thinking that Discord uses his influence while entombed to weaken the veil, and sends juuust the right items through to stir things up. A textbook on the American/French revolution to the Griffons angry over lack of representation, a smallpox vial to a dissatisfied magic user. Let's say the reverse engineered virus weakens magic users and destroys their magic, hence a lack of Pegasi altering the weather hence reduced yields, hence the fall. But like I said maybe it's heavy. It's just that modern medicine is the easiest way for mankind to be the big damn heroes. Maybe I'm taking the easy way out here. Geez writing clopfics must be so much easier than this.
I could get rid of the whole disease angle altogether but then how else can I bring in the food shortages angle? Just civil unrest isn't good enough for the kind of effect I'm trying to create.

Why oh why oh why am I penning girl on girl flirtation into my storyboard. How can I possibly write that well.
I mean I don't know anything about girls and I don't know anything about flirtation and I know even less about lesbianism than I do about either of those.
Also I'm not sure if the Earth portion should be set in 2012 or something like 2035, the latter gives me much more flexibility in terms of politics and technology and science but it also feels like cheating and like just another sci fi crossover.
But hey at least the first people in Equestria won't be the US fucking marines like every other fanfiction. Because jarheads are totally the kind of people you want to make first contact. America fuck yeah et cetera.
I still haven't figured out where Twi should go, I was thinking France though I'm not sure why, it's sort of quaint and pleasant and not much like the US or UK but while also being a seat of power.
