You posted a picture by someone who seems to think the entirety of the western hemisphere is called America, which isn't confusing America with Americas, it's idiotic logic that seems to imply the western hemisphere has a name. There are 3 Americas, North, South and just America. When people talk about all of them, they use the plural: Americas. Just as you do when you talk about multiple cats. You call them by the plural: cats.

"Americas" as a term is not seperate from any of the, well, americas. It IS the americas.
