I'm turning this topic into my own personal blog.
The reason I'm using this as a blog instead of a real blog is because I want people to actually read my blog. Sure I could link people but they will probably look once and never again. But you guys read this site every day.
So what is a blog? From my understanding there are two kinds of blogs
1)A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as "homework sucks" and "I slept until noon today."
2)those written by people who are experts on a topic they're writing about, and their posts can be very useful to other people who are working on similar things. Such blogs are very informative, and have a purpose.
So I plan to make a blog based on both of those.
But what can I write about with an expert opinion? I don't know. The things that are mostly talked about around here are politics and religion. But I'm not an expert in either.
Why do I hate politics? Well in New Zealand most of the politics revolve around Maori in some way. All the Maori do is have their hand out for money. The government gives a Maori person $10,000 towards university just for having Maori blood. My cousins great great great grandfather might have been Maori so he gets 10K while I get nothing and he's as white as me. There is no such thing as a pure Maori anymore anyway. It's all B.S. and people like my cousin have the same opportunities as I do but they get a free ride because of their blood.
Isn't that racist? The government is saying white people are superior to Maori. Maori can't get anywhere in life with out free money because they are not as good even when presented with equal opportunities. But I never knew racism was so bad in America until a couple years ago when I stared reading American forums. So much worse than NZ. It's pretty sad really. But I digress, the Maori want to be New Zealanders but also Maori when it suits them. They should pick one and stick with it. You want to be a New Zealander then good you're part as one nation and the same as everyone else. You want to set yourself apart from everyone else and be Maori, then ok go back to living in the bush and wearing grass skirts
Then were are other politics like schools polices and all that. Nothing ever seems to change, people vote in the red people and then 6 months later everyone hates them and wants the other party in. So they get voted in and 6 months later everyone hates them. This is why I stay out of it. There is nothing you can do but get angry and things.
And then you guys start talking about US politics. The US system with your governors and congressmen and presidents seems even more f***ed up. Pass.
Religion. I did not know much about religion until I came here. Before I though religion was for a bunch of crazy god fearing people who are scared into following a bunch of rules by being promised eternal life after death. And I still do.
However I know a bit more about it now. A while ago I even tried to be converted lol. But there is so much about it that does not make sense, and contradicts other stuff. I guess if you have been told it since you were born by your family and all the people at your church then you don't pay attention to those things as much. But I my family was never religious. The closest I came to it was when Santa came. And like people believe in God, I believed in Santa because my parents had told me, and all around me other people said the same thing. But thats ok, people can believe what ever they want to ^_^
There is one thing that does kinda make me wish I did go to church, and thats the social aspects of it. Meeting a bunch of like minded people who will help you out if you need problems or get together for fun times.
But I suppose thats like any club you join. I want to get involved with more social activities but I don't know what. I live far away form the main city and all my friends don't live near me anymore. Maybe I'll make my own club with blackjack and hookers... in fact forget the club!
